Job Description

The role will be joining the Global Health Office, a growing administrative unit supporting the School's international activities.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist the Vice Dean (Global Health), the Global Health Office Manager, and faculty staff in taking forward the School’s international activities, including mainly:
- Administration of projects (service contracts and grants) funded by international funders, including:
- support to initial contracting;
- financial administration and payments to collaborators where required;
- set up and administration of seed grants where required;
- other matters relating to the specific project.

 

2. Contributing or leading on the organisation of events (roundtables, conferences, etc.) in person and online, and organisation of visits from international collaborators.

 

3. Tracking and reporting of activity across the School; contributing to dissemination of funding opportunities; other communication as required.

 

4. Meeting bookings, room bookings, travel bookings and other duties in support of the team and related with the role.

 

5. Work with colleagues in GHO and collaborate where required on administrative tasks; participate in team meetings and other relevant meetings and contribute to discussion.

 

6. Work closely with other offices in School (e.g. Finance, HR) and NUS (OLA, ODPRT, IEP) to take forward all administrative tasks, including discussion, collaboration and problem-solving on complex situations arising from international work.

Qualifications

- Possesses a Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years relevant administrative work experience
- Strong administrative skills and experience of work in support of projects within a university environment (e.g. grants, service contracts, some understanding of financial administration), or equivalent experience
- Good understanding of the university/research environment, and flexibility to understand complex administrative questions and find solutions
- Experience organising events, online and in-person
- Great communication skills in English, able to summarise content and present it in slides, reports, newsletters
- A good team player who is self-motivated and well-organised with the ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills; positive and collaborative attitude
- IT/System savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Ideally, knowledge of NUS processes and systems
