Job Description
The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore (NUS), invites applications for a full-time Research Assistant/Associate position to support data processing and analysis for a large-scale and recurring population health survey.
This survey investigates and tracks the health status and lifestyle of local populations and aims to provide timely information on the studied populations’ health and risk factors for non-communicable diseases. Such information will support the formulation and evaluation of public health policies. The survey utilises quantitative methods and analyses responses to questions on health conditions and lifestyle habits, and collected data from health examinations.
Candidates will have the opportunity to conduct statistical analysis on large volumes of data, and apply research to drive meaningful impact. They will gain valuable exposure working with lead researchers with strong statistical background and stakeholders from organisations involved in policymaking and policy implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
• Conduct quality check, and apply sampling frame and weighting on survey data.
• Run statistical analysis to assess population health trends and impact of public health policies.
• Work closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) and other stakeholders to design survey questions and methodology, manage ethics applications, and track deliverables.
Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work with data collection and processing teams to ensure data accuracy and quality standards.
• Engage with policymakers and national agencies to ensure survey relevance and impact.
• Translate survey findings into practical insights and policy recommendations for effective public health policies.
Knowledge Management & Dissemination
• Synthesise findings into reports and policy briefs.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing activities, including public briefing of survey results.
Requirements
• Degree or Masters in Statistics or related field. (Master’s preferred.)
• Proficiency in SAS programming, including ODS.
• Proficiency in R programming
• Proficiency in quantitative research methods, particularly in survey design.
• Good analytical and writing skills, with the ability to translate research findings into practical applications, policy recommendations, and reports.
• Ability to work well in a team and to engage effectively with stakeholders.
• Work experience in survey and other quantitative research methods is an advantage.

• This is a full-time position based at NUS.
