Job Description

The Health Intervention and Policy Evaluation Research Centre (HIPER) (https://hiper.nus.edu.sg/) at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH), NUS, is seeking to hire an individual with relevant skillset and experience to conduct and support work in the area of programme evaluations, community health, and linkages with health services research.

 

The individual will play a critical role in the execution of the Centre’s growing portfolio of work in health policy and services research and evaluation in Singapore and the region, gaining the opportunity to work with leading experts, policy makers, and programme implementers in the field. They will be expected to perform research administration, conduct formative and evaluation-driven research, and disseminate findings.

 

The role will require an ambitious self-starter who can engage with incoming briefs and help shape and construct deliverables in a timely manner. As a researcher of the Centre, they will be presented with various opportunities to further develop their skills to ensure personal growth in their career. The role benefits from exposure to many areas of public health ranging from evaluations of patient reported outcomes and experiences to evaluating national strategic plans. This will engage the individual in building professional networks across multiple agencies both in Singapore and beyond.

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an established University, preferably in public health, health sciences, or social sciences with intermediate to advanced understanding of qualitative research.

 

The grade of appointment will be accorded based on qualifications and work experience.

 

Applicants with following experiences and skills are preferred:

  • Experience with conducting qualitative research, including study design and methods, data collection, coding and analysis of qualitative data, and writing and presentation of results
  • Experience with study project management, including participant recruitment, ethics applications, and study administration processes
  • Good team-player, independent, enjoys working across disciplines and sectors
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, well-organised, and meticulous
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with the use of qualitative data software, preferably Atlas.ti or nVivo,
  • Adept at learning new software packages and online digital systems
  • Experience with quantitative research and the use of statistical software will be a bonus
