Job Description

The Centre for Health Intervention and Policy Evaluation Research (HIPER) (https://hiper.nus.edu.sg/) at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH), NUS, is seeking to hire a researcher with relevant experience to lead stakeholder engagements and generate insights for health policy and services research.

 

The candidate will play a critical role in the development of the Centre’s growing research agenda to support health policy and services research in Singapore and the region, gaining the opportunity to work with leading experts and policy makers in the field. The candidate will play a key role in the design, coordination, implementation, and administration of research projects.

 

Responsibilities will include planning and facilitating roundtables and workshops. Design and conduct qualitative studies with patients, caregivers, and system stakeholders, including interviews and focus groups. Prepare and submit ethics applications. Collate and analyse qualitative and quantitative data, synthesising diverse perspectives into clear, policy-relevant insights. Prepare high-quality materials such as briefing notes, discussion guides, and reports. Contribute to academic publications and policy briefs.

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to hold at least a Master’s degree from an established University, preferably in public health, public policy, sociology, political science or equivalent.

 

The grade of appointment will be accorded based on qualifications and work experience.

 

Applicants with the following experiences and skills are preferred:
• Designing interview guides, conducting in-depth interviews, and thematic analysis.
• Ability to synthesise complex information from diverse stakeholders into clear, structured insights.
• Excellent writing skills for policy briefs, reports, and academic outputs.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Good organisational and project management skills to manage multiple workstreams. Familiarity with health policy and health services research.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and operate effectively in multidisciplinary, policy-relevant environments.
