Job Description

You will join Applications Architecture team and be primarily responsible for the design, development and implementation the data architecture of NUS Student Systems modernization program.

•    Drive data requirements analysis and translate into end-to-end data architecture solution
•    Perform data profiling and recommend solutions to data quality gaps
•    Responsible for data standards definition and structure of logical and physical data assets
•    Design conceptual, logical and physical enterprise-level student data model
•    Design conceptual, logical and physical system-level data models in orchestration with the enterprise-level data model
•    Design data layers, data flows, data mapping specifications and data transformation rules that enable robust and efficient data exchanges across all NUS and external systems 
•    Define data security and privacy design that governs data movement, data store and data sharing in compliance with PDPA/GDPR
•    Design optimized, scalable and secure databases that fulfil operational and analytical business needs
•    Participate in the data architecture roadmap, guidelines and best practices development 
•    Responsible to ensure that NUS systems and databases are designed in accordance with NUS data architecture standards
•    Provide guidance and advisory to IT Applications teams in the design and development of SQL programming and queries
•    Provide direction and guidance to IT Applications teams in the management of the full data life cycle

Qualifications

•    Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent with at least 12 years of working experience in a similar role
•    Experience as Data Architect in a large program, preferably Customer 360, involving data exchanges through systems integration across multiple IT applications
•    Strong knowledge of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices in data management
•    Extensive experience in conceptual, logical and physical data modelling; both normalized and multi-dimensional
•    Extensive experience in database design, preferably in MSSQL and Oracle, including analysis, query tuning, indexing and partitioning and database code optimization
•    Strong Microsoft T-SQL and Oracle PL/SQL programming experience including database packages, procedures and functions
•    Good knowledge in data security and privacy design, both in-transit and at-rest, preferably with PDPA/GDPR relevant experience 
•    Good knowledge in data management areas such as master data, metadata and data quality
•    Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate business questions and information quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely.
•    Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with different levels of users and vendors
•    Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and positive attitude
