NUS OAR
The NUS Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) fosters a lifelong relationship between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and its alumni. It provides a platform for alumni to stay connected with the University and each other through various programmes, events, and networking opportunities. OAR supports alumni in their personal and professional development, encouraging their involvement in university initiatives and community service. By promoting a vibrant and engaged alumni network in Singapore and globally, OAR aims to strengthen the NUS community, enhance its reputation, and contribute to the university's mission of excellence in education, research, and service to society.
Working with the Deputy Director, Alumni Engagement, the incumbent will lead a team to engage alumni residing in Singapore, oversee strategic partnerships with internal university units and 3P stakeholders, and drive the execution of partnership strategies, programmes and initiatives to foster alumni cohesion and participation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead a team to build and manage strategic partnerships with university and 3P stakeholders as well as to identify and secure new collaboration opportunities.
• Provide strategic oversight to ensure high-quality planning and execution of programmes and initiatives, designed to increase alumni engagement across the alumni lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement of internal processes, SOPs and operational standards.
• Monitor performance and ensure delivery of team KPIs.
• Oversee budget and financial management, including forecasting, procurement, documentation, and vendor management.
• Lead and mentor a team of managers and executives, providing coaching and feedback.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and special projects as assigned by OAR senior management.
Requirements
• A recognised degree.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in alumni and stakeholder engagement, international relations and/or partnership development roles, including at least 3 years in a leadership or mid-management role.
• Proven track record in partnership management, with the ability to structure partnerships, evaluate opportunities and build relationships across diverse stakeholders.
• A natural connector and collaborator, with an outgoing personality and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders across seniority levels.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to deliver multiple initiatives under tight timelines.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
• Collaborative, driven and outcomes-oriented.
• Willingness to work after office hours and on weekends, when required.
