NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduates (CFG) adopts a multipronged, student-centric approach to help them make sense of their strengths, refine their skills and demonstrate their value to employers. Beginning with the end in mind, CFG has developed a four-year roadmap to help enhance the employability of our graduates through a repertoire of skills programmes and industry focused experiential opportunities. This bolsters students’ assurance to grow deeper, discover their passion and explore multiple pathways.
 


Serving the entire spectrum of students from undergraduates to post-graduates, CFG offers more than 15 unit-bearing courses in collaboration with academic and industry partners. About the Role:
This is a challenging, purposeful and rewarding role for a Career Advisor to join the CFG team on a full-time basis. We are looking for a team member, who believes in collaborative work, one who is genuinely passionate about working with undergraduates and who will take the time to listen, understand, motivate, and support their aspirations. Duties & Responsibilities:

1.    Career Advisory and Workshops

•    Conduct 1-1 and group coaching for School of Computing (SoC) undergraduates and recent graduates on 
-    Career options that match their interests, values and skills, and develop action plans towards their professional pursuits
-    Career planning, job search strategies, resume and cover letter, and interview preparation to enhance their employability
•    Organise and facilitate talks and workshops for SoC undergraduates on essential career preparation skills, industry trends, etc. 
•    Other projects and administrative duties as assigned, according to the needs of the University and CFG, where required

2.    Facilitation

•    Facilitate the delivery of a new unit-bearing course for SoC undergraduates covering 
-    soft-skills training (e.g. presentation and communication, personality profiling, self-awareness & branding, interpersonal effectiveness & networking) 
-    tech tools utilisation (e.g., generative AI) in career preparation (e.g., resume/cover letter writing, research & interviewing skills)
•    Design and conduct interactive workshops, experiential learning programmes and self-directed e-learning packages to equip students with the relevant career and workplace competencies

3.    Faculty and Department Collaboration

•    Partner with, and support faculty & CFG initiatives in career programmes and employer events to equip students with industry knowledge and improve their employability
•    Contribute to CFG team in deepening employer relations, and provide support for key activities and events throughout the academic year, such as Career Fest

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of working experience in one or more of the following industries- IT, Engineering, and Training & Adult Education
•    Good industry knowledge of the latest transformation, emerging opportunities and hiring trends 
•    Prior experience in coaching/mentoring and familiarity with the use of personality profiling and career assessment tools is an advantage
•    Proven track record of excellent workshop or classroom delivery skills 
•    Experience in instructional design (both virtual and onsite) in adult/tertiary education and the Learning Management System (LMS) is an advantage
•    Strong written and verbal persuasive communication skills
•    Resilient and adaptable with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with partners and colleagues to manage change and achieve goals
•    IT savvy, proficient in computer software for research and data analysis/management
•    Familiarity with online social media and EdTech tools
•    Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
