Job Description

The Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL) is seeking to appoint a versatile Educational Specialist who is passionate about improving teaching and learning quality in higher education. 
The candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues at CDTL to provide support and professional development for faculty members to enhance their teaching and learning experience. The candidate will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing courses and activities that are responsive to faculty needs, as well as the vision, direction, and priorities of the Centre.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to each of the following key areas:

 

•        Provide professional development and training to faculty members. 


•        Provide learning design consultation to help support faculty members in course design and implementation.


•        Support the development and implementation of technology-enhanced instructional materials, including online assessment, interactive simulations, and multimedia presentations.


•        Collaborate with colleagues and faculty members on teaching and learning inquiry projects.


•        Develop and maintain a repository of instructional resources

 

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education/instructional technology or in a related field.   

 

  • At least 2 years’ experience in designing and conducting courses/workshops on pedagogy and technology-enhanced learning, including the development education resources such as elearning courses and instructional videos, to cater to academic staff and students in a higher education environment.

 

  • Able to work in teams to engage and support academic staff in the design and development of blended learning courses.

 

  • Experience in supporting academic staff to identify pedagogical needs and provide technological solutions; experience in CANVAS and BLUE Explorance will be an added advantage.

 

  • Possess working knowledge on various software applications, web-based collaboration tools and resources that are widely used in a higher education environment.

 

  • Adopt a scholarly approach towards teaching and learning and collaborate with academic staff on education research projects.

 

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to establish good working relationships with academic staff
