Job Description

The Development Office (DVO) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is responsible for cultivating and securing philanthropic contributions to support the University’s vision of being a leading global university shaping the future.

As part of the Gift Stewardship team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that philanthropic gifts received are in alignment with university fundraising needs, university policies, and donor intentions.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and contribute significantly to various development functions, making it ideal for someone who has an interest in philanthropy and aspires to build a meaningful career in development work.

 

  • Work closely and align with key stakeholders to facilitate the acceptance of major philanthropic gifts to the University.
  • Oversee all aspects of gift stewardship, inclusive of gift fund utilisation, crafting of donor reports and drafting appreciation letters to donors.
  • Maintain accurate records of recognition and reporting commitments to donors.
  • Ensure compliance with University statutes, policies and guidelines.
  • Continuously enhance and refine policies, processes to ensure best practice for all gift acceptance and stewardship matters.

 

Qualifications

 

  • An interest in philanthropy work. 
  • A recognized university degree; candidates who possess a diploma with relevant experience will also be considered. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. 
  • Process-driven with strong critical thinking skills. 
  • Proactive, inquisitive and meticulous, with the ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable in interacting with various stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in higher education or in philanthropy will be a plus.
