Job Description
The Development Office (DVO) is the University-wide office responsible for helping NUS secure philanthropic contributions for the University. The Stewardship role involves supporting and managing matters related to gifts utilisation and reporting.
The role provides an opportunity to learn and contribute to these development-related functions and will be beneficial for someone who has an interest in philanthropy and aspires to build a career in development work.
Duties & Responsibilities
Gift Stewardship
- Review gift utilisation and work with gift administrators across the University to ensure that gifts are used correctly and promptly.
- Work with gift administrators to address requests related to gift utilisation and reporting from them or from donors.
- Address queries from internal stakeholders on gifts received.
- Review, update and develop policies, processes and work on best practices related to gift stewardship and gift reporting.
- Maintain a registry of relevant gift documents and gift recognition.
- Ensure that gifts are accepted in accordance with University statutes, policies and guidelines.
- Team members will also work on other related matters as required.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Experience in providing support to internal stakeholders.
- Experience in preparing reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while being a good team player.
- Proactive and meticulous.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Embrace continuous learning.
- A desire to improve processes and operations, while leveraging technology.
- A recognized university degree; candidates who possess a diploma with relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience in higher education or in philanthropy will be a plus.
