Duties and Responsibilities

As a key member of the HR Partnering team at NUS Law, you will work closely with HR functional teams and HR Shared Services Team within the Office of Human Resources to meet the needs of your stakeholders and the University. Your main responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Partner and support the Research Centres’ Directors / Principal Investigators / Managers to manage, in a proactive and consultative approach, a full spectrum of HR functions for Research and Contingent staff.

• Establish a clear understanding of the recruitment needs of the Research Centres and work closely with the Centre Directors and Managers to hire suitable talents.

• Provide professional advice on the interpretation of NUS HR policies and procedures.

• Partner with business units to carry out manpower planning and budgeting, including Expenditure of Manpower (EOM) budget preparation and variance analysis.

• Act as a contact point for employee relations issues, provide accurate assessment of situations and HR advice to business units.

• Undertake other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned, contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence across HR functions.

Qualifications

• A recognised Bachelor’s degree, preferably with specialist qualification in Human Resource Management.

• At least 5 years’ working experience, including 3 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner, preferably in higher education or research sector.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

• Resourceful with good organisational and planning abilities.

• IT-savvy with strong numerical and analytical skills.

• Proficient in MS Office applications including MS Excel.

• Able to work well in a team and manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Meticulous, able to work well under pressure and committed to meeting tight deadlines.
