The Team
Come and join a team of dedicated and committed HR Business Partners that support the mission of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKY School) and East Asian Institute (EAI). Located in the Bukit Timah campus, LKY School and EAI are part of the National University of Singapore (NUS).
As an HR Business Partner, you will report to the Lead HR Partner for LKY School and collaborate with HR functional teams and the HR Shared Services team within the Office of Human Resources to meet the needs of both the LKY School, EAI and NUS.
The Scope
You will be a strategic HR advisor to LKY School and EAI, to partner and support the business line heads and managers to handle, in a proactive and consultative approach, a full spectrum of HR functions which includes Talent Acquisition, Staff Retention, Compensation, Performance Appraisals, as well as Talent Management and Development.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a key member of the HR Partnering team, you will:
• Collaborate with academic leaders, function heads and line managers to provide expert HR advisory services
• Manage staff appointments and re-appointments
• Oversee and drive staff programmes, processes and initiatives such as promotion, tenure reviews, mid-term advisory reports, awards and consultation work policies
• Facilitate annual performance reviews and compensation processes
• Address complex employee relations issues, and resolve disciplinary issues
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience, ideally in higher education or research sector
- University degree, preferably with additional specialist qualification in Human Resource Management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels
- Strong people management and collaborating skills, with ability to work across various HR teams and with staff at all levels
- Good analytical skills, meticulous, resourceful and self-driven with high degree of professional integrity
- Good understanding of local employment law and HR best practices
- Positive work attitude and a keen learner with a “can-do” mind set
