Reporting to the Lead HR Partner for CDE, you will work with your client to co-design people solutions and spearhead people strategies to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of NUS.
Responsibilities
As a member of the HR Partnering team supporting CDE, you will serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to academic and administrative leaders. You will work closely with HR Centres of Excellence (COE) and HR Shared Services team within the Office of Human Resources to meet the needs of your clients and the University. Your main commitments are, but not limited to:
• Partner with academic leaders, function heads and line managers to deliver the full spectrum of HR services including Talent Acquisition, contract renewals, performance management, compensation reviews, re-employment and more.
• Manage staff programmes and processes such as promotion and tenure, mid-term advisory report, awards, succession planning, Distinguished Visitors, consultation work policy, NUS Overseas Graduate Scholarship, NUS Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship etc where applicable.
• Analyse HR trends and metrics to support data-driven decision making and strategic planning.
• Handle annual manpower budget request and expenditure tracking.
• Manage complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary issues, in alignment with University policies and statutory requirements.
• Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned, contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence across HR functions.
Qualifications
• Preferably with at least 8 years of experience in HR Business Partnering or equivalent role, ideally in higher education or research sector.
• Bachelor degree or above, in Human Resource Management or related field.
• Good business and HR acumen, with a proven track record of delivering impactful HR solutions.
• Excellent consulting skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• Strong influencing and collaborating skills, with ability to work across various HR teams and with staff at all levels.
• Meticulous, resourceful and self-driven with a high degree of professional integrity.
• Good knowledge of labour legislations and HR best practices.
