The Health & Wellbeing (Office of the President) is responsible for the innovation, implementation and evaluation of health & wellbeing programmes which support the general NUS population. As a Health and Wellbeing (HWB) Trainer, you will be responsible for driving the end-to-end design, management, deployment, vendor management and measurement for our programmes. 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Instructor to join our Training team, specifically to support the delivery of our Resilience Training Programmes (FRTC and MRTC) to the Singapore Armed Forces. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering psychological resilience training, a deep understanding of military culture, and a keen interest in enhancing the mental and emotional resilience of soldiers. This role is pivotal in equipping our personnel with the skills needed to thrive in high-stress environments and maintain peak performance under pressure.
 

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Learning Design & Input

  • Assist the team with building content to incorporate best practices and latest research in resilience, psychology, and military training methodologies.
  • Customize training modules to address specific challenges faced by military personnel. 
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop and refine resilience training materials. 

•    Training and Delivery:

  • Deliver engaging and effective resilience training sessions for the FRTC and MRTC programmes.
  • Facilitate in-person training sessions, ensuring a high level of participant engagement and interaction, and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support as needed. 
  • Tailor training content to align with specific organizational needs and participant backgrounds, adapting training delivery to meet the learning needs of participants 
  • Share insights and practical applications during training sessions
  • Coordinate with guest speakers and subject matter experts to enhance programme content.

•    Assessment & Evaluation 

  • Support the evaluation of training programmes by collecting and analyzing participant feedback.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve training content and delivery methods of the Resilience Training Programmes.

•    Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in resilience training and military psychology. 
  • Collaborate with other trainers, psychologists, and subject matter experts to enhance programme content.
  • Incorporate new techniques and insights into the training programme.
     

 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field. Master’s level candidates welcomed. 
•    Experience:

  • Proven experience in delivering psychological resilience training programmes, minimum 5 years, preferably within a military or high-stress environment.
  • Strong background in adult learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Relevant certifications in resilience training, coaching, or related areas.

•    Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent facilitation and instructional skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of participants.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt training content to meet the needs of various audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Empathy and understanding of the unique challenges faced by military personnel.

•    Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficiency with virtual training platforms and learning tools.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).

•    Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to training locations as needed.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours to accommodate training schedules
