Job Description

As part of the Investigations Unit at the Office of Risk Management and Compliance, the candidate will lead and support university-wide investigations into staff misconduct and policy breaches, helping to mitigate financial, reputational, and regulatory risks. 

Beyond investigations, the role involves engaging stakeholders across clusters to promote compliance, conduct sensing, gather intelligence, and contribute to broader risk management efforts.

This position is offered on a 2-year contract tenure.

 

  • Serve as a business partner working within the ecosystem of the Faculties / Departments / Research Institutes on staff investigation and intelligence matters.  
  • Assist the Head of Investigations to evaluate complaints, allegations, and breaches received by the university through the Whistleblowing unit and other channels and advise on their suitability for investigations and further escalation.
  • Conduct investigations in line with university's procedures and best practices including case management, interviewing, evidence collection, recommendations for disciplinary sanctions and attendance before committee of inquiry or in the court of law. Review the progress of each investigation regularly with the Head of Investigations to avoid potential delays. 
  • Relationship management with internal stakeholders such as the Office of Human Resources, Health and Wellbeing Unit, Office of Legal Affairs, Campus Emergency Service, and Office of Internal Audit, among others, to facilitate effective and efficient investigation efforts.
  • Relationship management with external agencies such as the Police, CPIB, and other relevant investigation units or entities. Coordinate with various internal stakeholders to fulfil official information requests.
  • Participate in information-gathering efforts through various means on issues and/or activities that may pose a threat and be detrimental to the university, including pre-empting and proactively monitoring developments on campus.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Investigation Database Management System (IDMS) and preparation of reports highlighting key trends involving staff investigation
  • Assist in the periodic review of the unit's Standard Operating Procedures 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs, when necessary, to equip Heads and appropriate staff with skill and expertise related to investigation.
  • Participate and contribute to projects related to Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance.

 

Qualifications

  • Recognised University Degree in law, criminology, social sciences, or similar qualifications.
  • At least 5 years of investigative experience preferably in a law enforcement or in a corporate environment focusing on fraud, cybercrimes, misconduct, and ethics violations.
  • Candidates with experiences in intelligence, OSINT, and fraud or cybercrime investigations will have a distinct advantage
