About the Role
We are seeking a creative and driven Knowledge and Communications Executive to join the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA). This role will own the creation of engaging content such as training materials, guides, videos, and a redesigned staff portal, alongside planning and producing departmental communications that raise the visibility and impact of OLA's services across the University.
Alongside this, you'll be introduced to legal operations and knowledge management — helping structure data, reporting, and the department's know-how. No prior legal or data background is required; we're looking for someone with strong communications and design instincts who is curious and keen to grow into these areas, with support provided.
Job Description
Communications and Content Creation
- Creating and producing engaging content — templates, guidance notes, playbooks, checklists, training decks, videos, and other educational materials
- Designing and maintaining the visual identity of OLA's content, training materials, and staff portal
- Producing short-form video and animation content to support legal literacy and training initiatives
- Planning and producing regular departmental communications (newsletters, updates, campaigns) to raise the profile, reach and influence of OLA
- Supporting legal counsel on community and relationship-building initiatives across the University
- Planning and executing legal literacy campaigns and events
Knowledge Management and Operations
- Supporting the OLA in data management and the production of charts and data visualisation/analyses
- Coordinating with the Office of Data & Intelligence (ODI) for additional support
- Assisting with routine reporting and the updating and closure of legal records on software database
- Helping build and organise OLA's knowledge base: templates, guidance notes and self-help resources
- Contributing to process-improvement and automation projects as you build familiarity with the department's tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Mass Communication, Design, or a related field
- A strong portfolio demonstrating content creation, design, or digital media work (academic projects, internships, freelance, or personal projects all count)
- Strong writing and storytelling ability, with an eye for visual detail
- Proficiency in data analysis software (PowerBI, Python, SQL), Microsoft Office, legal tech tools, and web design, animation, and publishing tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe After Effects, WordPress, Elementor)
- A minor or working knowledge of Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science would be advantageous
- Strong organisational skills, including managing multiple projects and timelines
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-departmental teams
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., for content generation or research) would be an added advantage
