Job Description
Reporting to the Vice Provost (Academic Affairs), the candidate will be part of the team responsible for the smooth functioning of the various initiatives of the Academic Affairs in promoting a culture of excellence in attracting, recruiting, developing, rewarding, and retaining academic talents across the university. The role comprises the following portfolios.
Events Management
• Work closely with the Associate Provost (Academic Affairs) in conceptualising, planning and organising academic events, training programmes, and outreach initiatives.
• Conduct basic literature research on standards and best practices in academic talent management and development.
• Curate and develop relevant workshop/training materials and presentation slides.
• Plan and coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual setup, etc based on objectives and format of the events, and budget management
• Promote events and manage communications e.g., EDM visualisations and graphical representations of data and information, to ensure cohesive event branding and messaging
• Conduct pre- and post-event surveys and gathering feedback for management’s informed decision-making/future plans
Data Management and Analysis
• Responsible for developing and maintaining a centralised talent database for academic talent acquisition and retention. This includes continuous data collection, longitudinal tracking and monitoring, and management reporting. Will work very closely with other relevant offices in the University.
• Responsible for creating detailed reports on data sources, methodology, analytical techniques, analytical results and insight for stakeholders.
• Responsible for developing visualisations and presentations for dissemination of analytical results and derivation of actionable insight.
• Develop data repositories and system to enable key stakeholders to access regular reports.
Others
• Develop and manage the Academic Affairs website
• Manage related IT systems and IT projects that are under the purview of the Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs) office.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Data Analytics, Applied Statistics or Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Meticulous, resourceful, and possesses excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong data analytics skills and expertise, proficiency in using Business Intelligence tools (eg. Power BI, Tableau or Qlik Sense)
