About Development Office
The Development Office (DVO) is the University-wide office responsible for helping NUS secure philanthropic contributions for the University. We are seeking a seasoned and versatile communications professional with a strong track record across the full communications spectrum, and particular expertise in writing for a wide range of channels as well as in developing effective marketing strategies for donor conversion.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and executing strategic marketing and communications initiatives, especially in support of the NUS Capital Campaign and the wider goals of NUS Giving. This role requires a strategic thinker, an exceptional writer, and a digitally fluent marketer who is passionate about driving impactful storytelling and meaningful engagement for measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Align communications plans for key audience segments, working in close collaboration with frontline teams, faculties and other stakeholders.
- Craft and implement campaign messaging and cases for support to drive fundraising.
- Write and edit compelling, high-impact content for a wide range of platforms: print, web, social media, speeches, press release, video scripts, reports, donor proposals, and edms.
- Drive the development of integrated marketing and communications strategies for NUS Giving and the NUS Capital Campaign with strong emphasis on digital marketing, brand storytelling, and audience engagement.
Requirements
- Degree from a recognised university with 6 to 10 years of professional experience spanning communications, marketing, and writing-intensive roles.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills - able to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling content tailored for diverse audiences and channels.
- Demonstrated creativity and effectiveness in brand positioning, message development, and content creation.
- Experience in reputation management, media relations, or public affairs is advantageous.
- Proficiency in design tools is advantageous (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; highly organised, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; able to influence and build alignment across stakeholders.
