Job Description

AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

 

The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.  

 

AI Singapore is seeking a Programme Executive / Manager to join the Research team. Reporting to the Director of Research, this role will support the management and delivery of multiple projects, including initiatives that advance AISG’s strategic AI objectives.

 

The Programme Executive / Manager will work closely with the Director of Research to ensure timely approvals in line with AISG’s governance framework. The role also involves close coordination with AISG leadership, internal administrative teams, academic partners, external funders, and institutional stakeholders.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
The Programme Manager is required to plan, manage, execute and track the progress of the many concurrent programmes, to bring them to their successful completion. The Programme Manager is generally expected to: -

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Research and key stakeholders to align research goals.
  • Project Planning: Develop and communicate comprehensive AI Research programme plans, timelines, and activities to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Communication: Create visually engaging and shareable materials to showcase research programmes to external partners and public audiences.
  • Early-Stage Development: Participate early-stage planning, including effort estimation, resource requirements, and high-level project roadmap development.
  • Event Management: Plan and execute research-focused events that align with strategic programme objectives.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor and track programme progress meticulously to ensure smooth execution and on-time delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Manage programme deliverables, ensuring high quality and rigorous configuration management.
  • Risk Management: Proactively analyse programme risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Issue Resolution: Maintain a centralized issue register, tracking all project hurdles through to successful resolution.
  • Reporting & Escalation: Provide periodic progress updates to leadership and escalate critical issues that cannot be resolved at the staff or committee level.
  • Audit Compliance: Maintain organized, comprehensive records of all programme documentation (minutes, presentations, T&Cs) for seamless audit readiness.
  • Expectation Management: Align customer needs with realistic project scopes to ensure the AI Singapore team can deliver effectively.
  • Executive Support: Execute additional tasks as assigned or delegated by the Director of Research.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experiences. 

 

Core Skills

  • Project Oversight: End-to-end planning, resource estimation, and tracking of AI workstreams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Visual Communication: Translating complex research into "shareable" and attractive materials using MS Office and design software.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identifying project bottlenecks and maintaining an issue register through to resolution.
  • Audit Readiness: Meticulous record-keeping (minutes, T&Cs, presentations) to ensure seamless extraction for audits.
