Job Description
This position is responsible for developing and operationalizing University-wide student leadership initiatives to enhance leadership skills among students. This role involves creating frameworks for Interest Groups and Co-Curricular Activities (CCA), as well as curating and coordinating learning opportunities both nationally and internationally. The ideal candidate will also mentor and guide staff advisors and student leaders, review and update policies, and effectively communicate changes to relevant stakeholders
Duties & Responsibities :
- Primary Development:
- Lead a team to develop and operationalize the NUS-wide Student Leadership Flagship Program, including both inter and intra-university, national, and overseas leadership opportunites.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure consistent program delivery and alignment with university goals.
- Framework and Policy Management:
- Design and implement frameworks for Interest Groups, CCA registration, retention, and review processes.
- Regulary review and update current university and government regulations, policies and guidelines in consultation with relevant stakeholders to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
- Mentorship and Guidance:
- Staff liaison/advisor to assigned student groups
- Mentor and guide staff advisors and student leaders for key student activities, including NUS freshman orientation, NUSSU Rag & Flag, and other significant events.
- Provide leadership and support to ensure successful planning and execution of student activities.
- Communication and Training:
- Communicate and educate student leaders and staff advisors on updated policies and guidelines.
- Develop training sessions and materials to ensure understanding and compliance with university standards.
- Administrative support:
- Data collection and analysis for outcome measurement reporting.
- Support Student Life Metrics team
- Ad hoc projects or tasks as assigned by the section head.
Qualifications
- A good university degree.
- Passion and experience in developing student leaders at a tertiary level is preferred.
- Meticulous and willing to learn.
- Able to work well in a team and independently.
