Job Purpose
We are seeking a Senior Manager (Enterprise Master Data Platform) to design, build, optimise, and operate NUS’s MDM capabilities across key master data domains (e.g. Person, Organisation, Vendor).
The role focuses on identity resolution, survivorship modelling, API-first publishing, and event-driven data architecture — ensuring high-quality, governed master data that powers enterprise systems, analytics, and AI use cases.
This role is a hands-on role, platform-oriented and tool-agnostic. Experience with MDM (e.g., TIBCO EBX, Informatica, Reltio, SAP MDG) is mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities
Golden Record & Identity Resolution
- Design and implement entity resolution and match-merge logic.
- Define and configure survivorship rules and data quality thresholds.
- Implement SCD2 (slowly changing dimension) history tracking.
- Design canonical data models for master domains.
Platform Engineering & Integration
- Develop and maintain MDM workflows and pipelines.
- Develop and maintain MDM customisations and extensions.
- Publish master data via APIs and event streams.
- Integrate with API Gateway and downstream applications.
- Support event-driven patterns aligned with Enterprise CQRS architecture.
Data Quality & Reconciliation
- Implement automated data validation and reconciliation processes.
- Design monitoring and alerting for master data anomalies.
- Manage DLQ (dead-letter queue) handling and recovery patterns.
- Track and report data quality KPIs.
Governance & DevOps
- Maintain match rules, survivorship logic, and configuration in version control.
- Contribute to schema-as-code and policy-as-code initiatives.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for master data deployments.
- Maintain operational runbooks and documentation.
Platform Administration
- Monitor platform health status.
- Perform platform administration activities.
- Perform platform patches and version upgrades.
Stakeholder & Domain Collaboration
- Partner with data stewards, domain owners, source and consumer systems, and infrastructure teams.
- Translate business rules into technical configurations.
- Participate in data governance forums and architecture reviews.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
Must Have
- Experience in MDM
- Strong SQL and data modelling experience
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience with RESTful APIs and/or event streaming platforms
- Experience with Java programming
- Understanding of identity resolution concepts
- Familiarity with data quality frameworks and reconciliation patterns
- Knowledge of SCD Type 2 and historical data tracking
- Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD practices
- Systems thinker with strong architectural awareness
- Able to balance governance, engineering, and business needs
- Comfortable operating in a complex multi-system enterprise environment
- Strong documentation discipline and structured problem-solving approach
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good team player, proactive, and fast learner
Nice to Have
- 5+ years working experience in MDM
- Experience with commercial MDM platforms such as TIBCO EBX, Informatica MDM, Reltio, SAP MDG
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure data platforms
- Experience with Kafka or event-driven systems
- Experience integrating with enterprise systems (SAP, CRM, HR systems)
- Exposure to data governance tooling and metadata management
