Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to each of the following key areas:

•    Edit and enhance media using professional post-production workflows, including colour correction, sound mixing, motion graphics, captioning, compression and multi-platform delivery.
•    Use AI-enabled media tools for tasks such as transcription, captioning, noise removal, image enhancement, background removal, generative media, voice and video workflows, while checking outputs for accuracy, quality, bias, copyright and privacy risks.
•    Collaborate with media producer and colleagues to translate learning and communication objectives into clear, engaging media treatments and outputs.
•    Ensure media meets accessibility, branding, copyright, data-protection and platform requirements, including accurate captions and appropriate formats.
•    Provide advice on effective media formats, production approaches and responsible adoption of emerging AI tools
•    Create simple guides or conduct basic user training where required.
•    Maintain organized media libraries, project files, metadata, release documentation, backups and version control in accordance with University policies.
•    Coordinate schedules, vendors and production resources, monitor project progress, ensure quality standards and deliver agreed outputs on time.
•    Keep current with developments in digital media, educational technology and AI-assisted production, and recommend practical workflow improvements.
•    Co-ordinate software license subscriptions for media tools 
•    Special projects or other duties assigned by management

Qualifications

•    Diploma or degree in Media Production, Film, Communications, Digital Media, Multimedia, Design or a related discipline.
•    At least 3 years of relevant experience in media production and post-production; experience supporting education, training or institutional communications is an advantage.
•    Strong proficiency in professional video and audio editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, DaVinci Resolve or equivalent tools.
•    Hands-on knowledge of AI-enabled media tools for transcription, captioning, audio clean-up, image or video enhancement, generative content and workflow automation; able to select tools appropriately and validate outputs.
•    Sound understanding of cameras, lighting, microphones, recording, studio or location production, codecs, file formats and media delivery standards.
•    Good visual storytelling, editorial judgment, attention to detail, project management and stakeholder communication skills.
•    Knowledge of accessibility, copyright, licensing, privacy, consent and responsible AI practices in media production.
•    A portfolio or showreel demonstrating relevant video, audio, graphics or digital media work is required.
