What You Do
Architecture and Technical Leadership
- Work with platform architect and track functional and technical leads to resolve cross-track requirements and challenges
Lead the design of Salesforce solutions and recommend fit-for-purpose architectures aligned with NUS IT standards, security principles, integration patterns, and platform strategy - Engage business users and technical stakeholders to understand business outcomes, clarify requirements, and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Review solution designs, data models, integration approaches, non-functional requirements, and technical estimates for quality, scalability, maintainability, and compliance.
- Work with the integration lead to ensure all integrations are working optimally
- Provide technical direction to developers and administrators, promote reuse and configuration-first principles, and mentor team members on Salesforce best practices.
- Manage technical debt, platform limits and release strategies across multiple concurrent projects and environments.
Solution Development and Integration
- Develop and review Apex classes, Lightning Web Components, Flow, OmniScript, Experience Cloud sites, and other Salesforce platform components.
- Design and deliver Marketing Cloud assets including journeys, automation jobs, content templates, and Cloud Pages where required.
- Ensure solutions support appropriate data quality, privacy, security, performance, availability, and disaster recovery requirements.
Delivery, Testing and Release Management
- Establish technical delivery plans, development standards, branching and deployment approaches, and CI/CD practices for Salesforce releases.
- Work with the QE team to define test strategies and support unit, system integration, regression, performance, security, and user acceptance testing.
- Develop or review automated test scripts and ensure defects are investigated, resolved, retested, and documented before release.
Maintenance and Support
- Provide technical leadership for application maintenance and support, ensuring service levels and operational commitments are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues, data issues, integration failures, and security vulnerabilities.
- Review system artefacts, operational procedures, audit findings, and technical documentation to ensure quality and compliance with NUS guidelines and policies.
- Work with Salesforce administrators, business users, vendors, and support teams to investigate incidents, manage root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
Who You Are
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent.
- At least 10 years in the IT industry, including 5+ years in a Salesforce technical role and 2+ years in solution design or technical leadership.
- Proven experience designing and delivering end-to-end Salesforce solutions, including data modelling, integration and security design.
- Proficient in APEX, LWC, Flow, SOQL, jQuery, HTML5, CSS and Web Services (SOAP, RESTful).
- Experience working on Marketing, Sales, Experience or Education Clouds and OmniScript is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD, source control and DevOps tooling for the Salesforce platform.
- Relevant Salesforce certifications (e.g. Platform Developer II, Application Architect, System Architect or Marketing Cloud certifications) will be an added advantage.
- Good grasp of IT technologies, methodologies, architecture, and best practices.
- Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely. Understanding the business questions that users are trying to answer is essential.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users and vendors.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, a fast learner, highly organised and have a positive attitude.
- Experience in the Higher Education industry, especially student administrative systems, is a bonus.
