What You Do
For the first year, the role supports the Project Manager in the design, development, and implementation of the Indoor Navigation Project, including campus mapping, navigation feature development, testing, and deployment, to ensure successful project delivery within the approved scope, timeline, and quality standards.
Subsequently, from Year 2 onwards, collaborate with faculties to design and develop innovative technology-enhanced teaching and learning solutions by leveraging emerging and existing technologies, with the objective of transforming the learning experience and strengthening NUS's research impact.
Year 1 – Indoor Navigation Project
- Design, develop, and implement the Indoor Navigation solution, including navigation services, routing capabilities, geospatial data management, system integration, and user-facing navigation features.
- Develop and maintain campus geospatial datasets, routing networks, and navigation services to support accurate indoor and outdoor wayfinding.
- Conduct solution testing, prepare technical documentation, support deployment activities, and collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Year 2 Onwards – Interreality Technology (IR) Team
- Design, develop, and enhance innovative digital applications that support technology-enhanced teaching, learning, and research using emerging and existing technologies.
- Collaborate with faculties, researchers, and multidisciplinary teams to design, prototype, test, deploy, and continuously improve digital solutions that address academic and research needs.
- Research, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies, including AI, immersive technologies (VR/AR/XR), gamification, and interactive media, to drive innovation and strengthen NUS's digital capabilities.
- Provide technical consultation, application support, and continuous enhancements to ensure solutions remain scalable, maintainable, and aligned with evolving business and user requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Game Development or a related discipline.
- Experience in GIS, geospatial technologies, indoor navigation, mapping platforms (e.g., QGIS), or software development.
- Proficiency in modern software development technologies, including C#, ReactJS, Node.js, RESTful APIs, cloud platforms, and Git.
- Knowledge of geospatial data models, routing concepts, graph databases (e.g., Neo4j), and system integration.
- Experience developing desktop, mobile, web, or immersive (Unity/Unreal, VR/AR) applications is an advantage.
- AI fluency with practical experience or knowledge of generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning, and AI-assisted software development.

- Self-motivated with a strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new technologies.
