The Health & Wellbeing team, under the Office of the President, spearheads the innovation, implementation, and evaluation of health & wellbeing programs. These initiatives cater to the entire NUS population and extend specific support to employees facing acute mental stressors. We're on the lookout for a dedicated, energetic, and passionate individual to join our dynamic team.

 

As a Wellbeing Specialist Partner (Psychologist / Counsellor), you will play a pivotal role in providing crucial psychological support to individual employees while collaborating closely with departmental leaders to elevate the overall health and wellbeing of our workforce. This position stands out in the industry because it offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact from an organizational perspective. Candidates should have a background in psychology or counselling and possess a deep desire to explore innovative methods of enhancing the wellbeing of our people. Corporate consultative experience in programme initiation, account management, and solid presentation and communication skills are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Individual Counselling and Interventions: Provide evidence-based individual assessments and interventions, employing CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based techniques or other therapeutic modalities. Deliver interventions to address at-risk employees exposed to acute and stressful events, utilizing trauma-focused approaches to facilitate healing and resilience. Offer tailored support to employees across NUS, promoting their general wellbeing.

 

  • Clinical Workflow Implementation: Assist in implementing clinical workflows and best practices, ensuring quality and timely case management. Uphold the highest standards of psychological care within our institution.

 

  • Wellbeing Training and Workshops: Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops to empower employees, managers, and leaders to engage in meaningful mental health conversations. Foster an inclusive and empathetic community by equipping individuals with the necessary tools and knowledge (e.g. Peer Supporter Programme). Leverage interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance the overall mental health landscape.

 

  • Wellbeing Business Partnerships: Proactively engage and manage wellbeing business partnerships and accounts with NUS units. Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver programmes to enhance psychological safety and promote healthy work practices, contributing to a supportive work culture.

 

  • Consultation and Crisis Support: Assist with psychological consultation and support to departmental units facing acute and stressful events, offering expert guidance to promote psychological healing and resilience.

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

We seek a dedicated professional with a passion for mental health and a commitment to fostering positive change at the workplace. The ideal candidate will possess:

 

  • Education: A Masters or PhD degree in Clinical Psychology, Applied Psychology, or Counselling from an accredited institution. Your advanced education equips you with the knowledge and expertise to provide exceptional mental health care.

 

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges or with psychosocial needs. Your practical experience demonstrates your ability to empathetically address diverse mental health concerns.

 

  • Innovation: An enthusiasm for embracing innovation in mental health approaches, especially within workplace contexts. We value creative thinking and progressive methods to enhance mental health outcomes for our community.

 

  • Professional Registration: Eligibility for registration with the Singapore Register of Psychologists in Singapore or the Singapore Association for Counselling. Your affiliation with these esteemed organizations underlines your commitment to ethical and professional standards in mental health practice.

 

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated analytical acumen and problem-solving abilities. Your capacity to assess situations critically and devise effective solutions is integral to your role in supporting individuals' mental health.

 

  • Client and Project Management: Proficiency in client management and project coordination. Your skills in managing client relationships and overseeing projects ensure the seamless delivery of health & wellbeing services.

 

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills coupled with strategic partnership abilities. Your capacity to build meaningful connections and form strategic partnerships is pivotal in creating a supportive and collaboration environment.

 

  • Independence and Teamwork: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, coupled with experience in implementing projects involving cross-functional teams (e.g. HR, Health & Safety, Health Centre, University Counselling Services, and EAP vendors). Your balanced approach to independent work and collaboration ensures the success of multifaceted health & wellbeing initiatives.
