Job Description

In line with the School’s mission to nurture future-ready doctors, this role will play a key role to the design, development and plan implementation of new curriculum components while ensuring that these are aligned to the education mission and strategic priorities of NUS Medicine. These efforts will strengthen and broaden our curriculum, in topics such as medical sciences, communication skills, ethics and professionalism and patient safety. Use of technology and other pedagogical innovations will be strategic to the effective delivery of these education initiatives. As part of the Curriculum Planning and Development team, this role provides administrative and operational support to drive continuous enhancement to the curriculum.

 

1) Support curriculum development efforts to strengthen the curriculum, promoting clinically relevant foundational science curriculum; and to broaden the curriculum, to include topics such as communication skills, ethics and professionalism and patient safety:
•    Facilitate discussions for workgroups to design, review, develop and implement changes to education programs ;
•    Plan and monitor timelines for the workgroup to ensure that curriculum changes are implemented in a timely fashion;
•    Effective change and stakeholder management to promote close collaboration between different groups of educators and their stakeholders in the process;
•    Support and facilitate the review and further development of education programs;
•    Collect, manage and analyse relevant data to enable data-driven decision-making, and make recommendations . 
•    Support curriculum-related committees and workgroups to ensure adherence to QI/QA standards for the school.

 

2) Provide support in planning and development of the Entrustable Professional Activity (EPA) based MBBS curriculum through:
•    the planning, design and compilation or development of school level Curriculum materials or administrative tools that are pedagogically sound and supports EPA based curriculum framework;
•    collect, manage and analyse data as required, e.g., for program evaluation and assessment, to enable data driven decision-making;
•    change management and communication to stakeholders; and
•    support for the Curriculum Committees in the school, to ensure effective operation of curriculum governance.

 

3) Provide on-site operational support for NUS Medicine clinical exams and other activities critical to our education mission

Qualifications

•    Bachelor degree - major in Life Sciences preferred
•    3 to 4 years of relevant working experience – experience in healthcare / health education setting preferred
•    A strong team player who can work independently with minimal supervision
•    Receptive to feedback and eager to learn
•    Meticulous and detail-oriented with good project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
•    A positive, can-do attitude, intellectual curiosity and a strong service mindset
•    Good interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
•    Able to multi-task and work under pressure
