Job Description

The NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Development to lead our advancement and development initiatives. This critical role involves driving strategic planning, execution, and management of fundraising and stewardship functions to support the School’s mission and strengthen its financial standing.

 

 

  1. Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan in collaboration with the Dean.
    • Act as a strategic advisor to the Dean and Heads of Departments on all fundraising and stewardship matters.
  2. Fundraising and Campaign Management:

    • Lead efforts to achieve the School's fundraising goals, including a $300 million capital campaign by 2027.
    • Maintain a personal portfolio of high-value donors to meet significant personal revenue targets.
    • Drive the NUSMed Give120 campaign and oversee class giving initiatives.
  3. Donor Relations and Stewardship:

    • Oversee relationships with approximately 10,000 donors, focusing on high-level donor engagement.
    • Collaborate with school leadership to address donor-related issues and manage gift stewardship effectively.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for established centers, ensuring effective donor engagement and reporting.
  4. Operational and Organizational Leadership:

    • Manage day-to-day operations to align with strategic goals.
    • Lead, motivate, and mentor the development team to promote high performance and collaboration.
    • Oversee staff management, including recruitment and professional development.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, donors, and collaborators.
    • Provide timely and accurate reports and updates on development activities.
  6. Data, Metrics, and Digital Transformation:

    • Drive digital transformation and use data-driven strategies to enhance fundraising performance.
    • Streamline development processes for increased efficiency and impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in non-profit organisation, preferably with some fundraising background
  • Experience representing institutions at C-suite level meetings
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership in building and leading a small team
