Job Description

About the Role

The Centre Grant (CG) Administrative Officer plays a pivotal role in the post-award administration and governance of a major NUHS Centre Grant. You will be the operational anchor ensuring integration, accountability, and the timely delivery of grant milestones across a five-year funding cycle. Working closely with Principal Investigators, Core Leads, and senior institutional leadership, you will keep the grant's financial, reporting, and coordination machinery running smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a research-intensive environment and enjoys being the connective tissue between scientific teams, funders, and institutional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Centre Grant KPI Management — Track and monitor grant Key Performance Indicators against projected targets, and proactively prompt CG Directors and Core Leads where KPIs are at risk of falling short.

Budget and Claims Management — Manage the Centre Grant budget, ensuring timely submission of claims and processing of grant virements in line with grantor and institutional requirements.

Grantor Progress Reporting — Prepare and submit annual and ad hoc progress reports to the grantor (e.g., NMRC), ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines.

Governance Coordination — Coordinate across Facility Cores and Research Themes to convene the annual Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) and half-yearly Steering Committee meetings, maximising stakeholder attendance and engagement.

Meeting Coordination — Organise and support internal and external meetings related to the Centre Grant.

Training Programme Administration — Administer the grant's training programme in partnership with institutional partners such as the NUHS CS Academy, as well as support the administration of seed programmes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working in a healthcare or higher education institution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to interface with Principal Investigators and senior institutional leadership.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, and related collaboration software.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle competing deadlines across finance, reporting, and coordination workstreams.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

You are a proactive coordinator who takes ownership of deadlines, communicates tactfully across diverse stakeholder groups, and brings rigour to grant administration and financial tracking. Experience with research grant post-award administration or funder reporting would be an advantage.
