Job Description

As part of the Centre for Healthcare Simulation, you will work closely with the rest of the team in providing support to the various medical and nursing, undergraduate and postgraduate skills and simulation training programs.
This position plays a supporting role in ensuring all audio video and IT equipment are in good working condition for the delivery of quality simulation training in the NUS Medicine Centre for Healthcare Simulation (CHS).

1. Technical support for simulation programmes:
⦁    Test and ensure systems such as Simulation Audio Video System, Video Patching System, Portable Camera Recording System, Public Announcement System, etc. are in good working conditions before the commencement of trainings/events
⦁    Provide technical support which entails troubleshooting of software/hardware faults, installation, configuration, testing and upgrading computer software and hardware 
⦁    Liaise with suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve technical faults particularly those which require in-dept technical knowledge of the product 
⦁    Assist to tech-refresh legacy systems

2. Set up of room, equipment, consumables for the following skills and simulation trainings:
⦁    Nursing UG & PG
⦁    CHS courses
⦁    Medical PG
Support end-user computing
⦁    Setup computer for new staff and perform fresh installation, where necessary
⦁    Replace or upgrade existing IT infrastructure such as desktops, laptops and printers
⦁    Resolve security vulnerabilities reported by NUSIT

3. Conduct Virtual Reality (VR) programmes
⦁    Conduct VR sessions as well as provide demo to local and foreign students and/or visitors as and when required
⦁    Provide technical support of all VR equipment including but not limited to troubleshooting of hardware/software, reinstallation of operating system, software, etc.

4. Ad-hoc and other duties as assigned
⦁    Update CHS website's content in accordance to the workflow stipulated by the centre
⦁    Maintain equipment list and decommission old asset
⦁    Procurement of services, hardware and/or software related to the above-mentioned scope of works

Qualifications & Requirements

  • •    Able to communicate concisely with all levels of stakeholders
    •    Strong in IT, audio video and troubleshooting skills
    •    Knowledge of web design and development will be advantageous
    •    Knowledge of medical terms and jargons will be advantageous
    •    1 to 2 years’ experience in healthcare or education environment will be advantageous. Fresh graduates are welcome.
    •    A good team player who is able to work independently with minimal supervision
    •    Willing to work on weekends when require
