Job Description

You will be part of a dynamic team in the Department of Pathology, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, to provide support in Education and Pathology Museum Services. You will be responsible for the full scope of repair and reconditioning of Pathology specimen pots and also perform duties in digitization of pots, Department Undergraduate Education administrative matters, Lab administrative and safety duties.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pathology Pots Reconditioning and Digitizing
  • Learn the process of reconditioning of pathology pots and to recondition 200-300 pots per year, (according to the project needs)
  • Digitization (scanning) and editing of specimen pots for Pathweb content
  • Maintain an updated database of the museum collection of pots and their movements and stages in the digitization process
  • Maintain and ensure supply of the equipment and consumables necessary for preservation
  • Oversee safety aspects of pots-related and other lab work

 

  1. Education Support: Undergraduate Curriculum & Classroom Support

Undergraduate Pathology Curriculum administrative duties, including:

  • Creating and managing Pathology learning events in the NUS Medicine learning management system Elentra
  • Venue booking for tutorials.
  • Scheduling of tutors for Undergraduate Pathology tutorials
  • Student communications and announcements
  • Validating and publishing learning events in teaching feedback system (Blue System) and assisting tutors with feedback QR codes
  • Computation of teaching hours (tutor & students’ contact hours)
  • Provide physical on-site classroom support for lectures and tutorials.
  • Support onsite assessments and examinations.
  • Any other related administrative duties

Qualifications

  1. Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Sciences or related discipline, with at least 3 years’ work experience in a laboratory setting
  2. 1 or 2 years of relevant administrative experience is preferred but not mandatory
  3. Able to multitask and deliver quality work under tight timelines
  4. Adaptable team player and independent learner
  5. Meticulous and organized
  6. Flexible to accept new roles
  7. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel use is preferred
  8. Good written and oral communication skills in English
