Established as a centre within the Dean’s Office at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build an international platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address women’s major health concerns across the lifespan. Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research on the health and well-being of women and their families

The candidate will report to the Centre Director and oversee all administrative and operational functions of the Centre:

  • Work with the Centre Director and the track in-charges to oversee the administrative, business, and operational functions of the multi-track Centre.
  • Play a proactive role in building strong working relationships with a multidisciplinary team of internal and external stakeholders, global partners, and collaborators,  to develop and implement strategies that align with the overall objectives of the Centre.
  • Support the development of educational offerings and research initiatives including logistics and costings.
  • Manage and drive medical research projects and initiatives to optimize shared resources, budgets, and operational processes, to ensure success of the projects and initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with funding partners and foster long-term collaborations.
  • Lead management efforts to adapt to the evolving needs of the Centre.
  • Perform other duties, and/or participate in regular and ad-hoc events/projects, as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least a bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution.
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant working experience in a managerial role overseeing interdependent units or operation.
  • Desired qualities include prior experience in medical research projects, medical education, or financial and fundraising activities.
  • Capacity to work with students, scholars, and partners from diverse cultural backgrounds and where English is not their first language.
  • Flexibility to undertake tasks as they arise and are required for the efficient running of the Centre, and particularly the master’s programme initially.
  • Strong leadership, written, and communication skills.
  • Capable of working in an experienced multidisciplinary, global team collaboratively and with empathy.
  • Proficient in project management, multitasking and prioritization to effectively manage cross-track initiatives and activities.
  • Meticulous and keen appreciation of documentation.
