Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for an MRI Radiographer position in the Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The role is to perform stand-alone MRI scans independently at a clinical research facility. CIRC offers MRI and molecular imaging facilities that includes hybrid-PET (Positron Emission Tomography) modalities of PET/CT (Computed Tomography) and PET/ MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) for clinical research and clinical trials. Moreover, a state-of- the art Total Body PET/CT will be installed and online in Nov 2025. Appointments will be made on a 2-year contract basis in the first instance, with the intention of extension on a roll-over contract.
The mission of CIRC is to provide a shared state-of-the-art national resource for translational molecular imaging research, to foster collaborations between scientists and clinicians and to support the development of human capital. The expert radiographer plays a key role in our pursuit to being a leading centre for advanced clinical imaging research and to drive the development and translation of imaging biomarkers to clinical practice.
Objective of the role is to conduct PET imaging research studies using human volunteers and research subjects:
- Perform research scans for subjects.
- Perform daily quality checks of the scanners, ensuring the scan procedures are carried out as per protocol, and processing image data.
- Ensure all image data and offline post-processing raw data are properly archived internally and transferred promptly to the relevant project teams for analysis after the scans are completed. Some knowledge of PACS and basic Microsoft skills is preferred.
- Perform daily quality checks on all equipment and ensure that essential equipment is well-maintained. Maintain SOPs, documentation, service logs of day to day operations for audits.
- Participate in continuous medical education and quality assurance programs as directed by reporting officer/ Centre In-charge.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment; adhere to safe work practices especially in radiation safety and infection control.
- Perform any other duties assigned by reporting officer / Centre In-charge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Radiography and must hold a valid registered license with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) in Singapore.
- MRI-trained Radiographer with at least a few years of MRI working experience, preferably with knowledge of basic cardiac scans.
- Training will be provided to perform PET-MRI scans, if interested but not mandatory. These PET-MRI scans will be supported by an in-house NM technologist.
- Interest and experience in research studies or clinical trials will be advantageous.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The candidate should be able to work independently, be organized and have a demonstrable attention to detail.
