Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team at National University of Singapore (NUS) for a project focused on developing and optimizing RNA bioanalysis methods for RNA-based therapeutics. This research aims to enhance the extraction and detection of small RNA therapeutics (siRNAs, gapmers, SSOs) from biological matrices (mouse plasma, liver, CSF, lung, kidney, muscle) using advanced techniques, including biotin-based probe hybridization capture and Stem-loop RT-PCR (SL-RT-PCR). The optimized protocols will contribute to the study of RNA drugs and RNA modification, facilitating the clinical translation of RNA-based therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct small RNA extraction using various methods (e.g., hybridization capture).
- Optimize and validate detection techniques (e.g., SL-RT-PCR).
- Analyze RNA integrity, purity, and quantification in biological matrices.
- Assist in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies.
- Maintain detailed records and collaborate with team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with RNA extraction, PCR, and molecular biology techniques.
- Knowledge of mass spectrometry (LC-MS) -based RNA detection is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
