Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant in education research in the Department of Pharmacology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
The department is launching a new course titled Green and Sustainable Pharmacology. This emerging field focuses on minimising the environmental impact of every stage of drug development and clinical use of drugs, starting from drug discovery, manufacture, (pre)clinical development, and extending to prescription, use and disposal. We are conducting an education research project to evaluate the impact of interdisciplinary learning on Green and Sustainable Pharmacology learning and practices of students.
We are seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Research Assistant to assist with this education-based research.
Purpose of the post
To assist investigators in conducting education research studies according to study protocol, applicable regulatory and ethical requirements, as well as institutional policies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Educational Research (70%)
- Coordinate the submission of new ethics applications, study amendments and annual reports.
- Work closely with investigators to execute studies.
- Engage closely with stakeholders from industry, hospitals, academia and national regulatory agencies
- Conduct research study activities like participant recruitment, data collection, data analysis and data management
- Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with institutional policies, ethics requirements and local regulations.
- Assist in performing literature searches and producing reviews of the literature to support the delivery of research projects.
- Assist with routine preliminary analyses; maintain research data, write summary reports, and report findings to investigator.
- Provide research updates to study team on regular basis.
- Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI
- Maintain confidentiality on participants’ data.
- Present at education conferences
- Any other duties assigned by the Reporting Manager (30%)
The postholder will be expected to deliver other duties relevant and appropriate to this post.
Qualifications
- Degree in Life Science, Nursing, Psychology, Education, Environmental Sciences or relevant health-related fields.
- Experience or interest in conducting sustainability-related research studies.
- Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Have knowledge of data analysis & digital communication tools or applications, e.g. SPSS.
- Knowledge of grant administration and grant finance is an added advantage.
- Able to work independently and meticulously.
- Good written and communication skills.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Team player in coordinating with members of this interdisciplinary research.
- Flexibility in work hours.

Contract: Appointment will be made on a 1-yr contract basis with an option to renew.
