Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for projects related to virus and protein research in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Purpose of the post
The Research Assistant will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of projects related to virology. The RA’s principal role will be to support in the laboratory-based cell culture-based and biochemical assays.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Research Assistant will support laboratory members in laboratory-based projects and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RA will be expected to:
- Run laboratory-based experiments under guidance;
- Provide administrative and support to the projects, such as organizing regular meetings, , purchasing reagents and maintaining expenditure and safety-related records
- Perform laboratory maintenance including reagents preparation, glassware washing and inventory updating;
- Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
- Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.
Qualifications
The applicant should:
- have a Bachelor degree, preferably in Biomedical or related field;
- be able to work independently and in a team,
- be able to pay attention to details and learn new skills,
- have good communication skills and knowledge of common computer applications, e.g. MS office;
