Job Description
The National University of Singapore is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate in the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The centre aims to improve population health and well-being and healthcare delivery by accelerating evidence-based practice through the use of behavioural and implementation science. Purpose of the post
The incumbent will work closely with the principal investigators (PIs) to support research in BISI and contribute to the centre’s research strategies. They would be the point of contact between staff, external parties (i.e. stakeholders, collaborators) and the PI. The incumbent will also act as the main administrator for the PIs workstream. They will work with a team of researchers and admin staff on a regular basis to assist with research projects. They will play a crucial role in shaping and executing research agenda, ensuring timely delivery of projects, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and working with the Centre’s main admin core
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with research administration to ensure that research and related activities are performed in accordance with institutional regulations and sponsoring agency policies and procedures, including preparation of ethics (eg. IRB) and other regulatory/institutional documents and maintenance of PI file as required.
- Assist with research activities led/appointed by the PI such as study management, monitoring and tracking study budget and timelines, answering questions related to the study and working with other researchers/PIs.
- Prepare and coordinate reports on programme progress for a variety of audiences.
- Provide administrative support to the PIs’ workstream. This includes coordination of meetings, logistical support for visitors and staff and managing of the PIs’s calendars.
- Procure or acquire materials needed for research and liaise with vendors.
- Assist with data collection or analysis as required in research projects.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work or as assigned by the leadership.
Qualifications
The candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Psychology/Behavioural Science/Public Health or any discipline related to health or biomedical sciences.
- Relevant experience within an academic or healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Working knowledge in research ethics and HBRA is advantageous.
- Experience with research project management
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to operate effectively within a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and project management tools.
- A team player with an ability to work independently.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented.
- Keen interest in the areas of behavioural and implementation sciences for research translation and communication will be advantageous.
