Job Description
The National University of Singapore, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine seeks an experienced and dedicated Research Nurse or Research Associate to lead the day-to-day operations and management of our Clinical Research Centre. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the efficient and compliant execution of clinical research studies, ensuring adherence to protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory guidelines. Your leadership and operational expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the Clinical Research Centre, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning
- Coordinate and manage the recruitment, scheduling, and follow-up of research participants
- Supervise the collection, maintenance, and quality control of clinical research data and documentation
- Implement and monitor adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines
- Identify and address operational challenges, proposing solutions to optimise resource utilisation and streamline processes
Key Responsibilities
- Facility and Equipment Oversight
- Manage the research centre’s facilities, equipment, and resources to support effective operations
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and protocols for research equipment and facilities
- Ensure proper inventory management and procurement of necessary supplies and materials
- Identify and address any facility or equipment-related issues, coordinating with relevant stakeholders for timely resolution

- Team Leadership and Management
- Provide effective leadership and guidance to the research team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Oversee the allocation and management of workloads, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and maintain compliance
- Identify training needs and facilitate the professional development of team members
- Build and nurture a positive team culture that promotes excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a research or healthcare setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively with participants, staff, and external stakeholders
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical research protocols, standard operating procedures, and good clinical practice
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications and electronic data capture systems
