Research Fellow (Dept of Medicine)

Job Description

A Research Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Assoc. Prof. Chester Drum, Department of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore. The project aims to apply protein engineering and nanotechnology to design and develop proteins for industrial applications

Responsibilities:

• Protein design and engineering
• Recombinant protein expression and purification
• Biochemical and biophysical characterization
• Collaborate with industrial partners for beta-testing the proteins
• Prepare manuscripts, academic grant applications, and mentoring graduate students

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry, structural biology, or related field
• Strong expertise in protein biochemistry, protein design and engineering
• Experience with cloning, recombinant expression and protein purification is mandatory
• Experience with cell culture and cell-based assays is required
• Proficient with bioinformatics and biophysical characterization techniques
