You will support the Office for Students (OfS) in its mission to support undergraduate medical student welfare by creating a nurturing environment of well-being in NUS Medicine. This role also provides administrative support for other ad hoc events in OfS, as well as to the admin lead of OfS and Vice Dean, as required.
 
1. Student Support & Case Management
•    Provide first-line support for students in areas such as academics, physical/emotional well-being, leave of absence, financial aid and accommodation and if required, refer them to relevant parties (such as Office of Financial Aid, Office of Student Affairs, University Counselling Services) for assistance
•    Identify academically weak students, track their academic progress and work with relevant parties on remedial programme if required
•    Monitor and reach out to existing cases of at-risk students to ensure their well-being is taken care of
•    Facilitate mental wellness programmes for students to encourage support for self-care and stress management
•    Provide advisory service and administrative support for student-related matters


2. Management of disciplinary cases and provide care and support to affected students
•    Facilitate the investigation process of disciplinary offences
•    Assist in writing case report and relevant documents concerning the disciplinary cases 
•    Update the disciplinary records in a timely manner
•    Provide care and support to affected students after issuance of disciplinary sanctions

3. Administrative Support for Office for Students

4. Secretariat for the Occupational Health Clinic (OH Clinic)
•    Follow up with OH Clinic on students’ compliance to MOH vaccination and health screening requirements prior to their clinical attachment/postings
•    Ensure all incidences and accidents are reported timely by students and subsequent screenings are followed up

 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
•    Strong interest in mentoring and guiding students
•    Experience in counselling and/or student-related work would be an added advantage
•    Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
•    Resourceful with good administrative and organization skills
•    Confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people and confidential data
•    Has initiative to problem solve and able to bring closure to matters within areas of responsibility 
•    Good team player
•    Proficient in MS Office applications
