Job Description
The Research Nurse at Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC) is responsible for critical role of managing the participants/subjects; from registration to IV cannulation and administration of drugs and observation and helps the Radiographer with patient care during the scan, all following each study SOP. There is also the need to maintain the emergency drug trolley and resuscitation trolley for the unit.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Research Nurse will be able to:
- Assist in participant/subject preparation for scan (MRI/ CT/ PET) examination (standard pre & post preparation) as required to. May assist with phlebotomy or cannulation if trained and under the supervision of a designated research physician.
- Help coordinate appointments with research coordinators, manage participant queries, and assist in visit follow-up tasks.
- Assist Radiographers in patient transfer.
- Provide basic information and reassurance to participants about procedures, escalating detailed questions to research coordinators, research physicians, or radiographers.
- Assist with equipment and supply checks and report issues to the HOD or designated staff (e.g. BP machine, E-trolley check, anaphylactic kit, first aid kits, defibrillators, AED, emergency shower, and eye wash stations), medical supplies (e.g. medication, masks).
- Liaise with vendors for procurement matters such as deliveries and maintenance matters after monthly inventory checks.
- Oversee laundry matters (e.g. medical gowns), from stock availability to liaising with vendors.
- Follow established SOPs and assist with documentation under departmental direction.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation processes are in place in accordance with study SOPs.
- Support emergency response by calling for assistance, preparing equipment, and assisting the Code Blue team.
- Undertakes any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department / Reporting Manager.

Personnel should be:
- Patient and emotional resilience, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Strong in communication skills and the ability to listen actively and empathetically
- Able to perform Phlebotomy and Cannulation
- Highly motivated, ability to work as a team in a research environment
- Require critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of the research team as well as a constructive team player
Qualifications
The applicant should:
- Enrolled Nurse (EN), with a NITEC in Nursing and relevant work experience is encouraged to apply, and will work collaboratively with radiographers, research physicians and investigators.
- Registered with Singapore Nursing Board.
- Previous experience in Radiology department highly advantageous.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity & patient confidentiality
