Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Visiting Professor in the Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.  The Department is committed to actively collaborating with local and international partners to achieve excellence in Surgery education, research and practice and improve health outcomes for the population. The department is strong for primary care and population health research areas, nurture future medical students and residents in Surgery. Support in strengthening the department’s international network of research collaborators. Provide expert advice in identifying new trends, innovations, priorities and strategies 
in research. Provide quality training to educate the next generation of surgical specialists. Aspire to pioneer and lead research & development of new surgical devices and services. To to be aligned to the department’s research mission and focus.

Main duties and responsibilities 
The Visiting Professor will collaborate with PI(s) and support the department’s research mission and focus. He/she will be able to:  

1.    Contribute to the broad research programme of the NUHS/NUS Department of Surgery (both existing and eventually new projects).
2.    To teach both postgraduate and undergraduate students through lectures and small group teaching/discussions.
3.    To advise on building a laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) practice.
4.    To advise on neurotechnology.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

(a)    possess a relevant doctoral degree which is widely recognised internationally
(b)    possess a diverse and deep experience in research; a strong track record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals
(c)    be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail; and
(d)    competent in MS Office, PowerPoint, have good knowledge of data science/statistical software e.g. SPSS, R, STATA,etc is preferred
