Job Description

The Centre for Music and Health (CMH) is the first dedicated research center in South-East Asia to spearhead and investigate cutting edge, evidence-based practices that leverage the efficacy of music for health and well-being. Situated in the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, one of the leading conservatories in Asia, and embedded within a top-tier research university, the CMH is uniquely positioned to catalyze the artistic and scientific excellence of the NUS community towards research excellence in this emerging field. The Centre aims to establish world-class music programs and interventions to support crucial aspects of health at NUS and in Singapore, and beyond; and to develop interdisciplinary translational research and evaluation methods to support our evidence-based approach. We aspire to become the leading center for music and health in Asia, pioneering the development of music-based methods and interventions to improve people’s lives.
 

Duties and Responsibilities  of the Centre Manager:
•    Point of Contact with NUS Office of Deputy President (Research & Technology), Office of Finance, external grantors and government agencies.
•    Donor engagement and relationship management, identifying and keeping up to date on potential funding sources (grants, philanthropic opportunities), and assisting in the organization and content creation of fundraiser events.   
•    Provide strategic marketing and communications support for the new Centre for Music and Health including leading the Centre’s website development and maintenance.
•    Scoping new and maintaining existing collaborations, including identifying and reaching out to local and international arts organizations, public health stakeholders, and the music community, for research grants and collaborative opportunities at the intersection of music, health and well-being. 
•    Oversee research admin & finance systems (SAP, iRIMS, iGRANTS) in support of CMH researchers.
•    Manage the pre- and post- award activities of the Centre’s programmes including liaising with grantors, handling award notifications, project account creation, grant variations/extension, compliance and audit reviews.
•    Disseminate and coordinate all activities relating to grant calls, including grant proposal and budget submissions, compliance and completeness verification checks.
•    Monitor and co-ordinate timely submission of project/programme progress and final reports.    
•    Overseeing hiring and contracts of CMH research staff and research/student assistants.
•    Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    A recognised degree in Psychology, Medicine, Public Health, or another area of relevance to Music & Health.
•    At least 3 years of working experience ideally in grant or research administration.
•    Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
•    Able to work independently and as a good team player.
•    Adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
•    Proficient with office software commensurate with the position (i.e. MS-Office, etc.)
•    Some background in music a plus
