The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music is seeking an outstanding, internationally recognised expert in music education, curriculum innovation and institutional leadership to advance key initiatives in education, research and global collaboration. This is a visiting professor position for a term of three academic years (AY2025/26 – AY2027/28) with an expected commitment of 3 months per year.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Working with leading institutions to develop a globally recognised certification programme in music performance education.
2. Guest lecturing in the Conservatory’s postgraduate programmes, offering seminars on topics such as entrepreneurship, curriculum innovation, music education strategy, artistic research methodology and leadership in the arts.
3. Mentoring faculty and staff to advance strategic capability development at the Conservatory.
4. Mentoring and co-supervising undergraduate capstone projects.
5. Guide planning for the Performer’s Present 2026 international symposium, offering advice and leadership on artistic research matters, curation and planning.
Requirements
1. A Ph.D., D.M., or equivalent.
2. World renowned and visionary thought leader in music education, ideally with senior leadership experience at a higher music education institution.
3. Extensive expertise in shaping entrepreneurship, innovation and pedagogical initiatives.
4. Strong body of artistic research activity in music.
5. Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
6. Works well in a collaborative and innovative conservatory environment
