Job Description

The successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of the University's mission by providing efficient and effective administration of its educational programmes. Based in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, the incumbent will play an instrumental role to provide support for its postgraduate programmes including PhD programmes and Master by Research programmes. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following -

 

• Oversee the end-to-end administration of the postgraduate research-based PhD and MSc programmes at the Department throughout the student lifecycle.

• Work closely with the Department management and Dean's Office to manage the programmes' admission cycles, e.g. programme promotion, programme website, etc, and to upkeep the programmes' quality.

• Manage the administration of the programmes' examinations, including PhD Qualifying Examinations and PhD/MSc thesis examinations.

• Provide other or ad hoc support to the Department as deemed necessary.

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info

• Degree holder with minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.

• Mature, meticulous and possess a high level of responsibility.

• Strong customer relations management experience.

• Resourceful team player, yet able to work independently and displays initiative.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Event management experience.

 

- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.

-The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.
