Job Description

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department of National University of Singapore (NUS) is in search of candidate for a research engineer position to assist in Prototype Development. The candidate will work closely with our researchers, students, and professors to understand and derive insights from scientific experiments and data. The successful candidate will be assisting in the research of microelectronic devices and circuit designs for reliable hybrid component integration from a thermomechanical aspect to enable broad class of applications for dual-use relating to IoT microelectronics and Flexible Hybrid Electronics (FHE).


Responsibilities will involve:

1.    Develop and design thermomechanical experiments, prototypes, and proof-of-concept models to test hypotheses.
2.    Identify engineering challenges and work on solving complex technical problems.
3.    Gather and analyze data from experiments and simulations.
4.    Create prototypes of new products or systems
5.    Maintain accurate and detailed records of research activities, methodologies, and results.
6.    Collaborate with other engineers, scientists, and researchers to achieve project goals.
7.    Assist in equipment purchase, commissioning, and ownership.

Qualifications

•    A master’s or higher degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or its equivalent from a reputable University/Institute is preferred, or equivalent related experience. 
•    At least 2 years’ relevant work experience, and good knowledge, skills and expertise in relevant field.  
•    Candidate with experience in microelectronic research, characterisation, metrology and electrical testing, and strong in data analysis will have an advantage.
•    Knowledge of thermal and thermomechanical modelling and analysis. 
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Motivated and possesses effective communication skills including writing and presenting.
•    Ability to work independently and collaborate within a diverse team.
•    Open to Fixed Term Contract.
