Job Description
We are looking for a Research Engineer for the software-defined radios project led by Professor Massimo Alioto, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).
The selected candidate is expected to:
• develop software to program a proprietary on-chip FPGA architecture to support flexible communication protocols
• develop innovative software frameworks that translate high-level hardware specifications into FPGA configuration
• create a fully-automated software verification environment to test the entire system from end to end
• responsible for the overall system and software infrastructure, and resilient dataset infrastructure
• responsible for project repository, project websites, and web interface to exchange data to enable public access to the system in a software form
• manage project-related correspondence, relationships with project stakeholders, collaborators, and external partners
• manage industry consortium, cultivating constructive relationships with consortium members, partners, founders, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration
• collaborate with external organizations, government agencies, and industry partners to leverage resources, expertise, and opportunities for the consortium
• organize industry workshops to expand research collaborations.
The research will take place at the National University of Singapore for a period of three years. The appointment can commence immediately with a 1-year contract, with prospect of extension. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
The candidate must possess:
• min a Bachelor/Master’s degree in either Electrical Engineering or strictly related (e.g., Computer, Electronics, Communication, or Information Engineering).
• knowledge on software development and software testing automation is necessary
• experience in designing, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure in a corporate environment
• analytical and problem-solving skills
• team player who collaborates and communicates effectively with large teams of researchers and industry partners, taking the lead in project management
• open to fixed term contract.
