Job Description

NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS) is inviting applications for the position of research engineer/associate for medical image processing, product design and 3D printing.  

 

As a design engineer in AM.NUS, you will be working on projects on the following areas: 

•    Process medical imaging data (CT/MRI) to create 3D anatomical models, surgical guides and implants.
•    Develop end to end design applications using 3D printing technologies, that is from customer requirements to finished product, including but not limited to medical devices and health care products.
•    Cover all aspects of the design process, including research, prototyping, laboratory testing, iterating, design for manufacturing, and detailed design of final parts and assemblies.
•    Explore and support collaborations with researchers and industrial partners.
•    Initiate and undertake internal capability development projects.
•    Operate various 3D printers and characterization machines in the lab, provide training to new users.
•    Assist laboratory safety, equipment maintenance and procurement whenever necessary.

AM.NUS is the only multi-disciplinary Additive Manufacturing (AM) center in an Institute of Higher Learning in Singapore which comprises the following Faculties (Medicine, Science, Dentistry and Design & Engineering). The Centre is supported both internally by NUS and externally by National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC).   
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree and above in Engineering, Design, or Material Sciences
•    Experience in medical image processing
•    Experience in product design and development, especially with capability of CAD modeling and related simulations 
•    Knowledge and experience in 3D printing technologies
•    Proficiency in written and spoken English
•    Creative, self-motivated, good team player
