Job Description

Dr Xue Shifeng's lab in National University of Singapore (NUS), Department of Biological Sciences, is interested in discovering the vast world of epigenetic regulation in embryonic development. We are seeking a Lab Manager who keeps the lab organized and support projects involve in epigenetic repression, craniofacial development and/or rare genetic diseases.   
 
This role will provide a unique opportunity for you to develop organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. You will also learn and experience valuable laboratory techniques in molecular biology and embryology. Training will be provided in a nurturing and exciting environment.

 

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Participating in lab management, safety management and procurement activities. 
  • Liaising with external parties such as vendors
  • Preparing common buffers and reagents used in the lab
  • Performing experiments involving molecular biology, biochemistry, tissue culture and animal-based techniques.

Qualifications

  • A good diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related disciplines
  • Fresh graduates are welcome


Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year research laboratory experience. 
  • Experience in tissue culture and molecular biology preferred. 
  • Prior experience with animal handling will be an exceptional advantage.
