Research Associate (Materials/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Environmental Engineering)

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated person to join our multidisciplinary team working on the development of novel synthetic and bio-based polymers and composite materials for environmental sustainability applications. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of the research team under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) to work on:

• Developing materials and technologies for resource recovery from seawater desalination processes.
• Conducting research and experiments for materials synthesis, fabrication, testing and characterization.
• Writing and preparing progress reports, manuscripts, and proposals related to the propjets.
• Assisting the PI in guiding junior researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
• Assisting the PI in managing projects and laboratories and other ad hoc tasks that may be assigned by the PI.

Qualifications

• A Masters or PhD student who has completed thesis submission, and studied in Materials, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or any other related field, at a reputable university.
• Very good research publication records during PhD study.
• Strong background in biomass, biobased polymers, or hydrogels.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Being a good team player across multiple disciplines.
