Job Description
This posting is for two postdoctoral research positions in the exciting areas of electrochemical ammonia synthesis in the Xianbiao Fu group, which is affiliated with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
The perspective postdoctoral positions are to develop:
- Understanding the mechanism of Li-mediated NRR and Ca-mediated NRR
- Exploring novel methods for nitrogen activation under mild conditions
- Ammonia electro-oxidation and decomposition
- Artificial synthesis of amino acids
- Electrosynthesis of high-value fine chemicals
- Electrocatalysis in organic systems
- Precision synthesis of model (single crystal) catalysts and the design of novel electrochemical reactors
Extensive state-of-the-art infrastructure for materials synthesis, electrochemistry test and characterization is established at the Department of MSE.
The responsibilities of the postdoctoral fellow also encompass facilitating communication and information flow among groups working in the fields of catalysis and electrosynthesis. Additionally, the fellow will provide management support during the development of larger research proposals and contribute to initiatives aimed at sharing and advancing infrastructure for catalysis and electrosynthesis research.

Applicants should send those materials (CV, cover letter, and 3 representative papers) in the form of a PDF document to fuxianbiao2017@gmail.com. Please indicate "Postdoc application, Name" in the subject of the email and submit all application materials in English.
Qualifications
The applicants must hold PhD degree (or other equivalent degrees) in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or other relevant related fields. Experience with catalysis, electrochemistry, organic electrosynthesis, ammonia synthesis, organic synthesis and other related areas, is considered advantageous. Experience with material characterization techniques like SEM/EDS, TEM, XRD, XAS, XPS, FTIR, and Raman will also be highly considered. Since cross disciplinary work is essential for the success of this project. It is considered positive if the candidate can demonstrate experience in similar work environments.
